Vision

At FISD we guide students to success by providing rigorous learning experiences in a safe school climate supported by a partnership of students, parents, community members, staff and administrators.

Beliefs:

-All students are unique and can learn.

-We create and maintain a rich and rigorous curriculum.

-We believe it is important to develop strong character.

-We develop students’ critical thinking skills, problem solving skills and real world applications.

-We believe every person deserves respect and a safe learning environment.

-We prepare students to become contributing members of society.

-We believe a committed, high quality staff is necessary for continued student success.

April has rolled in with so much to do.  End of course exams begin April 17.  K-PREP testing will begin on May 4.  The faculty and staff are working diligently to get all students prepared for testing.

2014 K-PREP awards program will be held on May 1 at 10:00.  Students who scored proficient and distinguished will be recognized.

Congratulations of the March Students of the Month!  The theme was “Consideration to Others”.  Middle School Students of the Month:  Allie Gibson, Zoie Brown, and Bobby Armstrong.  High School students of the month were:  Parker Newport, Allison Pirtle, Mykeya Hudson, and Eric Daniels.

It is baseball and softball season, although there have not been many games played due to weather.  Both Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs hope to get back onto the diamond after Spring Break.

The Student Council is hosting a Middle School dance on Friday April 17 from 7:00 – 9:00.  And don’t forget Prom on April 25.  It will be held in the high school commons area beginning at 7:00.

Please mark your calendars for Middle School Honor’s Day on May 12 at 1:30 and High School Honor’s Night on May 12 @ 6:30.

Senior Baccalaureate will be held on Sunday May 17 at the House of Prayer church on Carr Street.  Graduation will be on Friday May 22 @ 7:00 in the high school gymnasium.

We want every student who enters the doors at FISD to be proud to be part of the school community.  We offer a wide variety of coursework and programs, so that each and every student can find his or her place.  The expectation is high!  We will work hard to teach each child how to create a positive learning environment – and we expect each student to work to help us create a great school.  We expect every student to be kind to others, be respectful of their elders, follow basic rules, and to do their very best every day.
