Students, parents, and Bulldog community: BRAVO! I would like to commend you all on the hard work and willing attitude that you continue to display as we conduct Nontraditional Instruction (NTI) days.I love getting pictures of students and parents working together at home and our teachers and staff working to reach out to students from home. You all are doing a fabulous job!
FIS schools will continue with NTI instruction days through May 15 for illness prevention. May 15 is the last day of school in the 2019-2020 school year. Parents are asked to return all NTI work on May 15 to either Carr Elementary or Fulton High School (wherever your student attends school.) At that time you will be given all of your student's supplies from their classroom and locker. Yearbooks are on sale at both buildings and can be purchased on May 15 with cash or a check. Carr Elementary yearbooks are $15 and FHS (& Middle School) yearbooks are $30.
Students that had perfect attendance before we went on NTI days AND have completed all of their NTI work will receive Perfect Attendance awards and t-shirts. A name will be drawn from the "Attendance Award Bucket" for the bicycles donated by the Twin Cities Masons. More information will be coming soon about a virtual awards day. We certainly want to honor our students for their successes throughout the year.
Teachers will continue to be in contact with students through May 15 to assist them on assignments for the remaining NTI days. Teacher phone numbers are located inside the folders that students have at home now. Parents and students are encouraged to contact their teachers with questions. A virtual graduation will be held on Friday, May 29 at 7:--pm. We will post the link on our website and Facebook page closer to that date.
As the situation around the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) evolves and more cases are discovered across the state of Kentucky, I want to assure parents that Fulton Independent School Administration is working closely with the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), the Fulton County Health Department and the Purchase Area Regional Health Department to provide accurate information so we can strengthen our preparedness and response efforts for our students and schools. The most up-to-date information on COVID-19 in Kentucky is being maintained on the DPH’s website.
If you have questions, please call me at 270-472-1553 or 270-627-2264. I love to hear from parents and students.
