Students, parents, and Bulldog community: As we move forward in this world wide pandemic, we at Fulton Independent Schools are striving to provide options for students and parents that meet all needs. Some parents would like their students to have in-person instruction. Some parents would like their students to have virtual instruction. FIS will provide both options during the 2020-2021 school year. This is the plan at this time. I will follow Governor Beshear's recommendation on opening schools. As of today, he has recommended that schools do not provide in-person instruction until August 17 or later. Our first day for students is August 18, 2020. If you wish to enroll your student in the Bulldog Virtual Academy, please contact Mrs. Dana Crawford at 270-970-4456.
All students will receive their own cloth masks to wear at school. They will take these masks home each night. We ask parents to wash masks out with soap and hot water daily or as frequently as possible. I recommend that all parents review our Reopening Plan and contact your Principal, Mr. Mancell Elam - 270-472-1741, with any questions.
As the situation around the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) evolves and more cases are discovered across the state of Kentucky, I want to assure parents that Fulton Independent School Administration is working closely with the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), the Fulton County Health Department and the Purchase Area Regional Health Department to provide accurate information so we can strengthen our preparedness and response efforts for our students and schools. The most up-to-date information on COVID-19 in Kentucky is being maintained on the DPH’s website.
If you have questions, please call me at 270-472-1553 or 270-627-2264. I love to hear from parents and students.
