Welcome back to school for our second semester of learning and fun.Everyone is busy, busy, busy with academics, athletics and activities after school is let out. Teachers are diligent every day and work long hours after school. I appreciate their dedication to our students.
We keep hoping the weather will hold off so spring break and graduation will not have to be rescheduled. Always stay on the alert for our All Call number on your phone, and if your phone number(s) have changed, please update them. Our makeup days will be on February 14th and April 18th.
The flu season is widespread in Kentucky, so be sure your child washes his/her hands frequently, and does not share food that could be contaminated with the flu virus. Our custodians sanitize surfaces in order to keep the flu at bay. If your child is coughing or sneezing, make sure he/she covers the mouth and nose. If the child has a fever associated with this, please do not send him/her to school, and go see a doctor. Remember to get a doctor's excuse, so your child will not have a truancy issue.
Teachers at the high school are helping the Seniors be College and Career Ready (CCR) before they graduate. This plays a big part in our K-Prep testing, so encourage your child to try hard on tests that qualify them. We have a Positive Behavior System that we are implementing when they become CCR, and they are guaranteed to Love It! Please notice the bulletin board at the high school and congratulate those students who are already CCR. Also, take a look at the Senior Athletes on the wall next to the gym. We are so proud of these individuals, so tell them, "Good job!" when you see them.
Teachers and staff are making and updating their web pages, so look on our home page to find new happenings and recent photos. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. In the event that you need to speak to someone about issues, always start with the teacher, then principal and finally the Superintendent if your issue does not get solved.
Thank you for choosing Fulton Independent School District for your child.
