Time to trade in alarm clocks for sunshine, homework for hammock time, and hall passes for road trips (or at least trips to the fridge ).
We wish all of our students and families a fun, relaxing, and SAFE vacation—whether you're traveling far or just enjoying some well-deserved downtime at home.
We’ll see everyone back refreshed, recharged, and maybe just a little harder to wake up in the mornings!

Thursday, April 2nd...Let's go Bulldogs !!

We would like everyone to join us in wearing bright, bold colors on Thursday, April 2nd for Autism Awareness.

A huge shout-out to our wonderful Food Service employee, Mrs. Renee Brown.

Information from President Susan Caldwell:
The Fulton County Kentucky Retired Teacher Association is made up of retirees from both the FIS and Fulton County School Districts. The Fulton County KRTA participates in the AARP/KRTA Grandparent Essay Contest—an annual competition for 5th graders, statewide—by sponsoring competition for the county. 5th grade language arts teachers are given the essay guidelines, and they, in turn, instruct their students to write a convincing essay on why their grandparent should be named the AARP/KRTA Grandparent of the year. Each school then selects and submits its winning essay to the county’s Retired Teacher Association, where a committee reviews the essays and selects a county winner.
The school winners were very special guests at the Fulton County KRTA March meeting—Angeline Martinez, from Carr Elementary and Kenslei Spencer, from Fulton County Elementary. Angeline and Kenslei read their winning essays and received a well deserved round of applause. The winning writers brought their proud Moms (Yuleydi Martinez and Jamanda Spencer), their dedicated teachers (Danielle Cruse and Ashley Moore), and Kenslei’s inspiring grandmother, Victoria Grubbs. Angeline’s inspiring grandmother—Marcia Martinez—could not attend, because she lives in Spain. FIS Administrators Amber Kinney and Amanda LaClere also came, as guests.
President Susan Caldwell Black thanked Angeline and Kenslei for their very persuasive essays and recognized the other guests, for the roles they played in the essay process. President Black proudly announced Angeline Martinez as the Fulton County winning essay and presented her with a Certificate of Award from AARP and KRTA.
Angeline’s essay was submitted into competition with other county winners in Kentucky’s First District. District winners were to be announced the last week of March. The district winners will compete for the title of Kentucky AARP/KRTA Grandparent Essay winner, which will be announced at the KRTA April Convention, in Louisville.
Fulton County Treasurer Deena Morrison presented Angeline and Kenslei with $50 WalMart gift cards, on behalf of the Fulton County KRTA, and all guests were treated to a delicious lunch.

This grant is supported by WKEC and includes multiple parts. To make it simple, K-8 will be using a program that is paid for by the grant called Social Institute. These are lessons about character and such that will meet the needs of digital literacy.
In addition, a STEM career lab will be put in the middle school through the Paxton Patterson Labs and headed up by the middle school science teacher who will be attending a training at the HUB in Paducah on July 6-7.

This special event will feature inspiring messages, music, and a time of recognition for our seniors as they prepare to take the next step in their journey.
Family, friends, and community members are warmly invited to attend and show their support for the Class of 2026!
