WOW, Fulton Independent Bulldog families… YOU showed UP! 💙
We had an amazing turn-out for our Family Reading Night, and it was filled with smiles, laughter, and so much FUN from start to finish!
Our students and families enjoyed a night full of cozy learning and memories, including:
🐾 Stuffing their very own Polar Pal
❄️ Making “snow” with a STEM activity
📖 Reading inside our “igloo tents” with their polar pals and/or family members
The BEST part? 💡
The purpose of this night was to help teach our students fun, meaningful ways to read at home—whether it’s reading with their families or independently to their stuffed animals. We want reading to feel exciting, comforting, and part of everyday life! 🥰📚
This event was made possible through the KyCL25 Comprehensive Literacy Grant, supporting Goal 4:
📌 “Schools will increase family engagement in the literacy development of their student(s) and awareness of resources to aid in supplemental literacy instruction at home.”
Thank you to every family who came out in your pajamas and made the night so special! We can’t wait to do it again!💙🐾📚

This past weekend, our Bulldog staff traveled to Nashville, TN to participate in Kagan Strategy Training!
Kagan Strategy Training helps teachers use classroom strategies that get all students actively involved in learning, not just the ones who raise their hands the most. Instead of students sitting quietly for long periods, Kagan strategies encourage students to talk, think, and work together in structured ways.
These strategies help students:
Stay engaged and focused
Build confidence in sharing their ideas
Learn from their classmates
Develop teamwork and communication skills
Teachers use short, well-organized activities where every student participates, so no one is left out or unnoticed. Each child is still responsible for their own learning, but they also benefit from collaborating with others.
Kagan strategies are used across all grade levels and subjects and support a wide range of learners, including students who may need extra support or who learn best by talking things through.
Overall, Kagan Strategy Training helps create classrooms where students are more involved, more confident, and more successful.
Those attending:
Terry Sullivan, Superintendent
Amanda LeClere, DPP
Amber Kinney, Supervisor of Instruction
Mary Giles, Educational Consultant
Christi Cavness, Teacher
Michele Stephens, Teacher
Destinee Walker
We’re proud of our staff for investing their time and energy into professional growth, all in support of our students’ success. Way to represent the Bulldog family! 💙
