In honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday, Mrs. Jan Pearson read Green Eggs and Ham to her class while wearing her ham- themed costume. The students also enjoyed a social studies lesson where we read about the history of Dr. Seuss - Theodor Seuss Geisel. We focused on The Sneetches, which helped them to learn about fairness, acceptance, prejudice, and equality. They loved their Dr. Seuss classroom tree and the related art activities as well. In addition, Mrs. Jan Pearson's class also had a warm, engaging Read Across America Week built around daily read-alouds and social- emotional lessons.
